Food Truck Weekends has to be one of Wetherill Park’s best kept secrets. Every Friday and Saturday night one of the steely warehouses in the industrial corridor of Victoria Street transforms into the food truck pop up – Food Truck Weekends. This more intimate food truck venue has become one of our regular weekend eating spots, it's always fun to visit, for more than just the food!

Food Truck Weekends is one of Western Sydney’s smaller food truck events, but when it comes to atmosphere, it’s huge. It takes place completely indoors, inside a large warehouse with ambient lighting, DJ sounds and fire pits to keep you warm on those nippy cool nights. There’s usually a line-up of 4 or more trucks which vary week to week so there’s an ever changing menu to tempt you.

The Soupman however, is one of the more regular features at Food Truck Weekends. He's been ladling his now famous, Lobster Bisque, Jambalaya and Seafood Chowder into bread bowls at Food Truck Weekends since they started.

If soup isnt your thing The Soupman also offers big hot Loaded Spuds, and more recently, Loaded Fries. Then there's dessert, Nutella Crepes or Chocolate Waffles with cream, marshmallows, fresh strawberries and generous drizzles of nutella.

Food Truck Weekends is all about comfort food, because let’s face it, every now and then that’s what we love. I try and eat healthy all week so I can relax the rules and indulge in some some sticky chicken wings, maybe a dirty big burger and if I'm lucky enough, some tomato drenched pasta dished up in an edible bread bowl. It's exciting to try a bit of everything on offer.

On our last visit we were content to share a few bowls of The Soupman's Loaded Fries These came topped with a choice of Bolognese, Pulled Pork, Tzatziki Lamb or Chilli Con Carne. Between our group we tried them all. The Pulled Pork proved to be a real crowd pleaser but the Chilli Con Carne is my absolute favourite. I loved the combination of spicy Mexican flavours loaded onto hot chips with a generous dollop of sour cream. It was totally sinful cheat day food, but so delicious.

In addition to a selection of yummy food, there’s always something fun going on. We've seen everything from bucking bulls to movie nights keeping diners entertained, and not forgetting that eating competition we convinced our Western Sydney Food  blokes to enter. There's usually a jumping castle for the kids so mum and dad can enjoy some tasty food in peace.

Just recently the organisers have started gearing up for summer by trialing a  brand new attraction that no other food truck location has - a mobile swim up bar!!

The Mobile Bar currently serves mocktails when it's open at Food Truck Weekends but a full bar service bar may just be a around the corner. Mind you those mocktails look and taste so refreshing that we didn't miss the booze.
