Look out, there’s a new South American inspired restaurant in town! Located inside Parra Leagues Club, it’s called Pablo’s , and its serving up delicious tapas and mains, fun cocktails and beer brewed onsite. There are SO many tasty and interesting items on the menu. Bring a crowd so you can order and taste them all!

South American food may be known for its meats, which Pablo’s of course serves up, but the veggie dishes are some of our favourites at this Parramatta restaurant. The Charred Corn with chimmichuri dressing is bursting with flavour, the Fried Cauliflower is tender and delicious dipped in a charcoal aioli and Zucchini Flowers stuffed with capsicum and eggplant are a welcome alternative to the usual cheese stuffed dish.

If veggies aren’t your thing, then try the individual serves of Churrasco (we went for the chicken), the tender Fried Calamari with more of that gorgeous charcoal aioli, and one of our favourites, the Wild Board Tacos. These tacos were a showstopper. Pulled pork and chipotle mayonnaise on a soft tortilla, freshened up with a crunchy apple slaw, how could you go wrong? You also can’t go past the empanadas, which like everything at Pablo’s, are made completely in house. The crumbly pastry and meaty filling are divine.

We washed this all down with some cocktails which also have South American vibes going on – the Amazon Sour and Inca Revolt. Now you can’t come this far and skimp on dessert. We opted for two, the Mini Churros and the Burnt Meringue. These desserts are both worth saving room for. Or order them before your tapas if you have too so you don’t miss out. The churros are light and fluffy bite-sized pieces, that come with a rich, sweet and creamy dulche de leche dipping sauce that is topped with a whipped apple cream. This desert is heavenly.

But the pièce de résistance is the meringue. This dessert is a visual masterpiece and a taste sensation thanks to the contrast of both the look and flavour of the sweet, charred meringue and the bright, tart citrus. This is how you end a meal in style.

Pablo’s has updated its menu since we dined there, but no doubt the same South American inspired flavours will be the focus.
