Cucina Locale 

Cucina Locale is a Modern Australian restaurant with a very Italian name. In English, Cucina Locale translates to "local kitchen", which is reflected in the menu's focus on serving locally sourced farm to plate produce.

In addition to the food, Cucina Locale offers diners some of the best views in Sydney. A section of the restaurant floor rotates to provide spectacular 360-degree views which span from the Blue Mountains into the city! 

During sunset, the skyline is magical, and later in the evening, city lights sparkle until they meet the horizon.

Garlic Bread doesn't usually impress us, but at Cucina Locale, it turned out to be a great start to a delightful dining experience. We nibbled a few slices of warm buttery garlic bread with a relaxing glass of wine while we soaked up more of the incredible views.

Our first dish was light but luscious, Scallops and Halloumi drizzled with Caper and Date Vinaigrette ($25)

We also had the  Spiced Riverina Lamb Cutlet with Mint Yogurt and Onion Rings ($24). We received two tender lamb cutlets crowned with crispy golden onion rings. This was a generous portion for an entree, unless you love lamb as much as we do!

For the main course, Australian Barramundi sourced from the pristine Australian waters of Cone Bay. Our barra fillet arrived embellished in Zucchini, atop of a tasty serve of tamarind infused ratatouille. The fish was served with juicy charred lemon, which gave the dish a little extra zest.

We found the Duck Breast with Orange, Broccolini and Beetroot had the perfect balance of fresh and vibrant flavours, and the duck was perfectly cooked.

On the side, we opted for a  plate of Roasted Cauliflower with Almonds and Harissa Mayo ($12). Cauliflower is so underrated! Roasting this humble veggie brings out its sweetest flavours and creamy texture.

We finished with two gorgeous desserts, Pannacotta with Lychee and Orange ($16) and the Triple Chocolate Tart with Passionfruit Sorbet (16). Both desserts were beautifully plated, the tart was our favourite, it was sensational.

We swapped our usual after dinner coffee for English Breakfast Tea, which was graciously served with pretty floral cups and saucers.

Cucina Locale also offers a degustation experience comprising of several courses with options for vegetarian dishes and wine pairing. This is a great way to fully explore the menu.


We dined on the cusp of a new menu, so some of the options may have changed. but we can't wait to taste the new dishes from Executive Chef, Jessie Singh.
