While Alice kicks her heels up in Europe, I’ve been catching up with Kim, a fellow food blogger from Go West Gourmet. Last week we visited Warwick Farm and had a 5 star dining experience at The William Inglis Hotel.

Crossroads Hotel is an iconic landmark in Western Sydney pub culture. If you're a Western Sydney local, you know exactly where this pub is, it sits at the intersection of the Hume Hwy and Camden Valley Way in Casula. This famous hotel is also an award winning venue, it just achieved three top awards at the 2018 AHA NSW Awards for Excellence! The wins are for Best Casual Dining Venue, City Chef of the Year for David Beus and Most Innovative Refurbishment.

Look out, there’s a new South American inspired restaurant in town! Located inside Parra Leagues Club, it’s called Pablo’s , and its serving up delicious tapas and mains, fun cocktails and beer brewed onsite. There are SO many tasty and interesting items on the menu. Bring a crowd so you can order and taste them all!

Dessert aficionado Sarah is a qualified pastry chef, creating delectable sweets for special occasions from her home cake studio in Western Sydney. I have been lucky enough to experience Sarah’s desserts many times, and they never fail to impress. From her buttercream cakes, to desserts cups and macarons, Sarah’s spatula is her wand and what she whips up is magical.

Tella Balls is a Dessert Bar with a difference. They first became popular thanks to their Nutella filled Tella Ball donuts, but now the brand is also known for creating delicious desserts which are inspired by more savoury dishes. The menu at Tella Balls shows pictures of mouth watering treats styled to resemble fish & chips, kebabs, sliders, and pasta. I visited  the Castle Hill venue with my son, and we ordered their latest dessert twist, the Tella Pie.

The Ironbark Terrace at St Marys Rugby Leagues Club is the ultimate outdoor dining venue. Decked out in timber with casual lounges and a huge sports screen, this space has a warm sociable atmosphere. At the heart of the Terrace is the Ironbark Pizzeria, which serves the perfect food for this laid back environment  - pasta, risotto and woodfired pizza.

Christina’s and Olivia are a mother and daughter team who operate Christina’s Gourmet Catering, Dinners and Workshops in Baulkham Hills. These two ladies are passionate about the food of their Peranakan heritage - Malaysian Nyonya Cuisine. In addition to their busy catering schedule, they also offer a weekly dinner service, and Malaysian cooking workshops.  Their most recent workshop was held as a lunch event. Participants (including me) cooked up a rich Assam Pongteh Chicken and Pulut Inti, a sticky rice dessert. These delicious dishes were cooked and eaten outdoors on a sprawling Kenthurst property against the backdrop of a liquid amber tree.
