It has been a very busy week for us, but there’s no rest for the wicked as this weekend we decided to visit some more of the Good Food Month events that are on during October. Today, while mum checked out the Casula Powerhouse Sweet As Festival, I soaked up the sun at the Parklands Food Fest.

We love October. Not only is it because we are well and truly into Spring and we can see Christmas starting to approach, but also because there are so many food events on as it is Good Food Month! This week the Parramatta Lanes festival is on. There’s two days left, tonight and tomorrow night from 5pm to 9pm. We went on the first night and had a ball!

We recently received a tip off from a reader that Mount Druitt Westfield is home to a cool café, but they couldn’t remember what it was called. We wandered around the shopping centre until we came across Espresso Warriors and thought, this has to be it.

Paper Plane Café is a lovely little coffee spot on Horwood Place in Parramatta, parallel to the famous Eat Street. Its adorable setting of tiled tables, chalkboard drawings and pretty cushions makes it the perfect place to catch up with a friend for Brunch. Oh, and the breakfast menu is pretty good, too!

In June, I visited to Adelaide for the first time ever! I went for a weekend of good food and wine to celebrate my birthday. Here is a long overdue recap of the highlights!

If you’re looking to start or end your weekend in a really cool way, have I got the place for you! Every Friday and Sunday night the Spot Caffe in Riverwood transforms into the rockin burger pop up, Miss America’s Diner. Last Friday night I took Mr 10 on a dinner date to Miss America's. We were keen to see how their dawgs, fries and burgers stacked up.

Mr 10 and I have been avid viewers of the reality show, Restaurant Revolution on Channel Seven. We have always thought Sydney’s Restaurant Rev has the best team, go Dom! We are pretty excited that the Sydney Rev is close by in Parramatta, this weekend we were finally able to to check it out. It was interesting to compare dinner at Somewhere Nice to my previous meal at Scarfo in Melbourne, a few weeks ago.

Attention all golfers! Did you know Western Sydney has a beautiful big Greg Norman designed Golf Course just ten minutes north west of Blacktown? It's called Stonecutters Ridge Golf Club, and it's the home of the New South Wales Open. But wait there's more! The Chefs at Stonecutters Ridge have been finalists two years in row in the Club's NSW cooking competition, The Chefs Table. When we went to dinner at the club, we had high expectations!

The Sydney Good Food and Wine Show is the one event I look forward to each year like a kid waiting for Christmas. I was one of the first people through the door last Friday morning when the show opened at Olympic Park. With a good foodie friend beside me we spent the day exploring the offerings of this mega food event. We met some wonderful people behind the food and wine labels, excitingly we unearthed a few from Western Sydney!

Last weekend, we spent three amazing days in Melbourne.  While my husband and Mr 10 were keen to cheer on Real Madrid in the European soccer, I was excited to check out the Melbourne food scene. Even though we were only there for a short time, we discovered there's a lot to love about Melbourne!
