  • Autumn Harvest at Rouse Hill House & Farm

To celebrate the last day of Autumn, Sydney Living Museumshosted the food focused Autumn Harvest at the historic Rouse Hill House and Farm. We braved the rain and trudged through the mud to have a quick browse at the festivities.

  • Camden Produce Markets

It was a cold and rainy Saturday morning, but that didn’t stop us from leaving the house at 6.30am and heading off to the beautiful Camden Produce Markets. The markets are held every second and fourth Saturday of the month and allow only farmers or producers to sell their goods. It is also a fairly small market and is the only one in Australia to be held on a working farm. All this gives the Camden Produce Markets a great vibe, full of people that are passionate about fresh, Aussie produce. The breathtaking view isn’t bad, either.

  • Campbelltown Country Fresh

This fantastic fruit and veg shop at the Marketfair shopping plaza in Campbelltown stocks a huge array of both fresh produce and specialty pantry items. After following these guys on instagram for a while, we finally got to check them out while in the area last weekend.

  • Farmers and Artisan Markets

During late April and May I took a little time out from my usual shopping routine and decided to check out some of the fine food and farmers markets of Western Sydney. I popped into Farmers Markets at Castle Hill, Warwick Farm and Glenorie on separate weekends. It had been some time since I had visited a farmers market so this was to be a rediscovery tour putting me back in touch with what loved about this market culture.

  • Liverpool Night Markets

On Saturday night, we attended the small but lively Liverpool Night Markets. The markets are still in the very early stages of operation, however the number of quality, locally owned businesses that have set up food stalls gives very promising signs for the future of the once a month event. Here are some of the stalls that we tasted from and loved.

  • Market by the River, Ermington

Some people get really excited about Christmas, a super Saturday sale or Grand Final weekend. But here at the Western Sydney Food Blog, we get really excited about local markets, especially visiting new ones. One of the newest on the scene is Market by the River in Ermington. This once a month market set up next to Parramatta River has a range of foodie delights and handcrafted items available.

  • Mount Annan Farmers Markets

We recently visited the Mount Annan Farmers Markets to pick up our weekly groceries. The markets are on every Sunday morning from 8am to 1pm during winter. They are quite small, but well worth a visit with a variety of friendly growers and producers selling the fruits of their labour.

  • Why You Must Visit Sydney Markets

The Sydney Markets in the western suburb of Flemington is the fresh produce hub of Sydney. Growers and sellers assemble from all over Sydney and its greater regions every week with their seasonal produce.
