  • A Long Weekend in Adelaide

In June, I visited to Adelaide for the first time ever! I went for a weekend of good food and wine to celebrate my birthday. Here is a long overdue recap of the highlights!

  • Aussie Agriculture at the Show

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is back and it’s as good as ever. Walking through the gates at 9am on the first day, we were some of the first of the 900,000 people expected to attend this year’s Show. We had a fantastic day full of fun and of course, food! The message at this year’s show is loud and clear: Support Australian Agriculture.

  • Country Drive Along the Hawkesbury Harvest Trail

With weather so beautiful this weekend it was an easy decision to pack the family into the car and head off on a relaxing drive in the country. It was also an opportune thought to include the fresh food shopping and make a day of it along the Hawkesbury Harvest Trail. With an esky in the boot we set off not knowing what gems we would find!

  • Easy Lane Windsor

Easy Lane at Windsor RSL has taken club dining to a whole new level. Erase the images of two for one rump steaks or Chinese buffets out of your head and instead picture fresh seafood, an extensive drinks menu and a gorgeous beer garden setting.

  • Razorback Ridge Wine Wise Tour

You don’t need to travel too far from western Sydney to enjoy a winery experience in the Macarthur region. We visited Razorback Ridge Winery at Menangle earlier in the year, when we heard they were holding a wine wise tour in November we didn’t waste any time in booking our place. This tour took us behind the scenes of the winery, showing us the wine making process every step of the way from the grape to the glass. Following the tour we enjoyed some wine tasting and a very nice lunch. My idea of a perfect day out.

  • The Mudgee Region

Our Easter long weekend was spent enjoying the scenery and tasting the flavours found in the Mudgee Region of Central Western New South Wales. I hadn't visited Mudgee since friends Jo and Glyn got married there, 23 years ago. How time flies! Since my last visit it was easy to see that the local wine industry has boomed, while a complimentary gourmet food scene has developed along side it.

  • The Sydney Good Food & Wine Show 2015

The Sydney Good Food and Wine Show is the one event I look forward to each year like a kid waiting for Christmas. I was one of the first people through the door last Friday morning when the show opened at Olympic Park. With a good foodie friend beside me we spent the day exploring the offerings of this mega food event. We met some wonderful people behind the food and wine labels, excitingly we unearthed a few from Western Sydney!

  • The Sydney Wine Centre

Psst, guess what? We’ve found out about one of the best kept secrets of all time. Sydney has a wine centre. Yep, that’s right, just a train and tram ride away in Pyrmont, the Sydney Wine Centre sits above a bottle shop on Harris Street, where you can taste your way through Europe or brush up on your fancy-pants vino-lingo.
