  • Liverpool Night Markets

    On Saturday night, we attended the small but lively Liverpool Night Markets. The markets are still in the very early stages of operation, however the number of quality, locally owned businesses that have set up food stalls gives very promising signs for the future of the once a month event. Here are some of the stalls that we tasted from and loved.

  • Oliver Brown Belgium Chocolate Cafe

    Last week, we were lucky enough to be invited to Oliver Brownto sample some items from their menu. We took Mr 10 along with us to fulfil every child’s dream of chocolate for dinner. We visited the Auburn café, but this Western Sydney based business also has a whopping 28 other cafes in Sydney so you are sure to find one near you and we suggest you visit it ASAP.

  • Refugee Week

    Last week was Refugee Week. As supporters of Australia accepting refugees and asylum seekers, we were keen to get involved in some of the many activities that our local government area and refugee welcome zone, Auburn, was holding for the occasion – particularly when we saw food related events on the agenda!

  • Rumballs

    Here’s a quick and easy rumball recipe!   You can make them ahead of time for Christmas Day.  I first tasted these 30 years ago when I lived in the Central West town of Parkes. A friend’s mum made them every year at Christmas. I loved them so much I asked her for the recipe and have made them most years since. They are a guaranteed Christmas crowdpleaser. They freeze well too!

  • Sweet Vicinity, Dessert Cups

    South-west Sydney couple Lily and David are the perfect pair. Lily loves making desserts and David loves eating them. So together, they have created Sweet Vicinity, offering beautiful dessert cups which they call “the next generation of desserts”.
